Da grande farai il dentista

Questo progetto concettualmente rappresenta la possibilità concessa ad un adulto di farsi guidare dallo sguardo di un bambino, di guardare le cose senza il timore della consapevolezza. Con il titolo della serie fotografica “da grande farai il dentista” – in cui sono ritratti mio padre e mio fratello – volevo sottolineare la concretezza della maturità, della ricerca di stabilità che un adulto cerca di insegnare ai propri figli. Ho voluto regalare a mio padre l’opportunità di tornare bambino, lui che, come tanti altri, non ha potuto godere la sua giovinezza perchè costretto a diventare grande alla svelta.

This project portrays the chance for an adult (my father) to be guided by the eyes of a child (my brother). It is the chance of looking at things, exempt from the skepticism of maturity.
The title emphasizes the search for stability that adults try to teach their children. I aim to give my father the opportunity to be a child again. Alike many others, he was unable to enjoy his youth, as he was forced to take up responsibilities at a young age.
